Alfred Francis Adam left this world on February 18, 2021 surrounded by family and loved ones at home. Alfred was born in Iowa on June 22, 1928 to Michael & Bertha Adam. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60+ years, Janette Adam; his children Cynthia Adam, Sandra (Peter) Fox, Gary Adam, Virginia Owens; grandson Cameron Adam; and his sister Martha Bryson who lives in Iowa and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Donald Owens, his parents and five of his siblings.

Alfred served as a Sergeant in the Army, earning several medals in the Korean war. He was farmer/cattle rancher (loved his Herefords), worked at the City of Longmont, built and opened Brandin’ Iron liquor store in the '70s, and he loved being a Realtor/developer. When retired, Alfred took up baking/cooking for family and friends, as well as volunteering for various organizations in the Longmont area.

The town of Hygiene was his home for 40+ years, with his last 17 years being spent in Loveland. Alfred had a life long passion for the mountains, wildlife, flower gardening and love of trees, planting many in his life. Alfred always had an amazing sense of humor, adventure and an irrepressible twinkle in his eye. He loved to try new things and was always wondering what was around the corner and had an insatiable curiosity throughout his life. Huge Bronco fan and season ticket holder since 1975, attending several Super Bowls with his wife and friends. He was a gifted storyteller, his grandson once said “Only Grandpa could make corn growing interesting” as they were passing by a field of corn. Al loved to hunt and fish. Visiting Rocky Mt. National Park in the fall for the elk rutting season was an annual tradition with family, as well as picnics in the park. Al enjoyed driving the scenic roads, public and private roads, always finding a new places to explore. Alfred made everyone feel important and special. He was well loved and will be forever missed.

In lieu of flowers-- donations may be made to his wife to help cover his final expenses or donations to Longmont Meals on Wheels.

A celebration of his life is planned for the summer around his birthday.
