Obituary

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Colleen, our loving and devoted mother and friend, on March 23, 2021. She left us, sleeping peacefully, at her home in Loveland, CO. She was 85 years old.

Colleen was born on August 7, 1935 in Hibbing Minnesota to Collin and Hilma Kringle. She graduated from Hibbing High School in 1953. On January 2, 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert R (Bob) Bergstrom in Mannheim, Germany where Bob was stationed in the Army. They returned to Hibbing in July of 1956 and shortly after they started their family. Their three children were born in Minnesota, and in 1970 the family moved to Loveland, Colorado.

Colleen was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her life, she enjoyed baking, throwing parties and planning memorable vacations for them.

She worked various jobs throughout her life. Being the attendance clerk at Walt Clark Junior High was the job that brought her the most joy, she loved being around the kids.

She touched many lives along the way, she was known as “Mom” or “Grandma” to many. She will be remembered for her caring and generous spirit. Her smile and kind heart will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who know and love her.

She is survived by her husband Robert R “Bob” Bergstrom, son Robert C “Buck” (Marilee) Bergstrom, daughters Brenda (Herb) Jones, Nancy (Bob) Keirns. Grandchildren Christopher (Jen) Sikich, Casey, Cody, Kyle, and Maria Keirns. Great-grand daughters Sierra and Taylor Sikich. Numerous extended family members.

In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in honor of Colleen.

Funeral Services will be held on March 31, 2021 at 11am at Viegut Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life BBQ is planned for this summer.

What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful person, my Aunt Coke. She was loved by all who knew her. Always giving to others and spoiled rotten by a man who loved her through and through, Uncle Bob. Rest In Peace and give my mom and dad a big hug!
