Obituary

Darlene Louise Garrett, age 79 passed away on March 30th, 2021 due to a stroke. She was born on January 5th, 1942 In Golden, Colorado to Theodore and Maybelle Becker. She was married to Jack Garrett for 37 years. Darlene had one son, Troy who is 57 years old and the love of her life!

Darlene loved life and it showed in everything she did and in everyone she met. Her hands were rarely still, always working on or thinking of things to do or planning trips to fun destinations. She even lived for 15 years in Panama raising a family. Cooking was also her passion, coming up with her own version of tried and true recipes!

Darlene had an infectious spirit that everyone she met could feel. You just felt good knowing her as she made you a better person. Her smile and kidding nature made you always feel comfortable and welcome!

Two of Darlene’s passions were flowers and traveling. There were always flowers in the house, no special occasion needed. One of her favorite trips was to Holland in the spring to see the tulips in full bloom! She loved to see all the beauty that the world had to offer. She soaked it all in!

Darlene’s faith guided her through the good and the bad times. God was always at her side showing her the way. She would wake up every day thanking God for another day on this precious earth. It gave her and others comfort knowing that God was nearby. One of her favorite scriptures was, “This is the day the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it). Psalm 118:24.

Darlene’s last words were “Don’t worry, be happy”! That is the selfless kind of person that she was! She knew that she was in good hands when the Lord came to take her home. She will be missed terribly every day! Our love for her hold no boundaries. We loved her as high as the sky and as deep as the ocean, and all the stars in the Heavens.

Darlene is survived by her husband, Jack Garrett and her son Troy Tuttle and her sister Diann Becker.

A private celebration of her life will be held by her family at a later date.
