Obituary

Jay Schulze passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 27, 2021 after he bravely battled an unfortunate illness.

Jay was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, on December 13, 1959 to Fred and Ginger Schulze. He graduated from Fond du Lac High School in 1978. He graduated with Honors from North Harris County College with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 1987. He also graduated with Honors from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2011. Jay had a passion for learning, reading, and he always kept up with world events.

Jay worked at GLI and the Hach Company for 21 years. He loved to talk about water! He had the opportunity to travel to Asia and Europe several times bringing back very memorable stories to share. After leaving Hach, he worked at other companies providing exceptional customer service which was always a high priority for him.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Jay. He loved to sit on the patio in the warm weather looking at the beautiful flowers in the yard, with a cocktail in hand and music in the background. He had a passion for music – he could name every artist and song, and he could explain the meaning behind songs. He enjoyed attending concerts and playing his guitar. He loved sports and was, of course, a Green Bay Packers fan! He loved to travel and had many places on his bucket list to explore during retirement.

Jay will be deeply missed by his wife of 15 years, Marvel (O’Connor) Schulze, Loveland, CO; sister, Cindy (Larry) Van Ert of Greendale, WI; niece, Andrea (Michael) Schmitz; great nephews, Andrew, Joseph, and Thomas of Van Dyne, WI; Uncles, John (Mary) Stanley, Ponca City, OK; Thomas (Mitzi) Stanley of Claremore, OK; and many cousins and friends. Jay was preceded in death by his step daughter, Bailey O’Connor; mother, Ginger Schulze; father, Fred Schulze; and grandparents.

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile,
If only I could have you back for just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again
Just like we used to do
You always meant so very much
And always will do too.
The fact that you’re no longer here
Will always cause me pain
But you’re forever in my heart
Until we meet again.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Pathways Hospice Care Center at McKee Medical Center for their care and compassion during the past week. You are truly a blessing!

Due to ongoing COVID concerns, there are no services planned at this time. Cremation has taken place.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Care Center, 2000 N Boise Avenue, Loveland, Colorado 80538 in memory of Jay Schulze.
