Obituary

On Thursday, April 8, 2021, Patricia Ann (Jones) Linson, beloved mother of 4 children, passed away peacefully, in Battle Creek, Michigan, at the age of 83.

Pat, as she was best known, was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma, one of three children, to Charles and Nadine (Conaway) Jones. She moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1954, and graduated from Loveland High School in 1955. Pat worked for 16 years at Hewlett Packard while earning her Bachelor of Arts in 1979 from Colorado State University, then her Masters in Social Work in 1983 from Denver University. After graduation from DU, she diligently worked for 13 years as Executive Director of Alternatives To Violence, establishing a community resource network to help battered women, and try to eliminate family violence in Loveland. She also worked for Larimer County Boys and Girls Club, Loveland Pediatrics, and as a substitute for the Thompson Valley School District.

Pat loved being with her family and friends playing cards and board games, her favorites being Chickenfoot and Manipulation. She was an avid reader, loved old western movies, cooking and her hot tub. She enjoyed traveling, doing cross stitch, knitting, agate hunting on the beaches of Lake Superior, and dabbling with some home improvement projects.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother Pearl Conaway, brother George, and infant grandson Joshua. She is survived by her children Michael, of Loveland, Debra (Harvey) Parsons of Monticello, GA, Pamela Ambrose of Frederick, CO, and Marcia (Terry) Dayton of Battle Creek, MI, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren with one on the way, a great-great grandchild also on the way, sister Marylynn (Jim) Kirtley, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorial celebration will be held at Viegut Funeral Home on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 11:00 am. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, all donations be made to Alternatives to Violence in Pat's honor. Masks will be required.

I worked with Pat at HP many years ago. She was a very nice gal, and I enjoyed her company a lot. Your family also lived in our neighborhood of Sheri Mar. I am very sad for the family's loss, I know Pat will be greatly missed.

Thank you so much for your comment. Nice to see so many people from long ago respond with kind words about my mom. Brings comfort knowing she was kindly thought of.

Growing up in Guthrie, Oklahoma, Pat became one of the "Crazy Eights" - a beloved group of eight teenage girls who stayed in touch with one another throughout the years. We loved each other and had a strong bond. As young girls, we gathered at Patty's house for Girl Scouts since her mom was our Girl Scout leader. Happy memories.

Thank you so much for your comment. I heard my mom mention the crazy eights, but didn't elaborate on it further. I'm glad you have those memories. Thanks for sharing. Marcia Dayton (the youngest)
