Obituary

Randall E. Kerschen, 58, of Fort Collins, CO passed away in his home on May 18th, 2021.

Randy was born in Kingman, KS but was raised in Irving, TX where he went to MacArthur High School. After marrying in 1986, he lived for 15 years in Naples, FL before moving to Fort Collins in 2001. Randy was an avid fisherman, mastering the art of deep sea fishing in Florida and fly fishing in Colorado. He established many life-long friendships participating for many years in softball leagues in both places. He was an accomplished tile installer, practicing the trade for 30 years. Randy was the person who would walk into a room full of strangers and walk out with a room full of friends. He had a heart of gold and a witty sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes.

Randy is survived by his daughter, Kara Johnson (Craig) of Loveland, CO, and his daughter, Sydney Kerschen of Fort Collins, CO, and grandchildren Callan, Jessie, and Baby Boy Johnson of Loveland, CO, as well as the mother of his girls (and former spouse of 27 years), Teri Kerschen, of Fort Collins, CO. He is also survived by 5 siblings. Daniel Kerschen of Sherman, TX, Timothy Kerschen (Debbie) of Arlington, TX, Julie Kerschen of Sherman, TX, Kimberley Roberts of Marietta, OK, and William Kerschen of Thackerville, OK, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Patricia Kerschen, and grandparents Edward and Clara Kerschen and Russell and Ann Wright. He will be missed by many friends, family members, and former in-laws. Randy faced numerous challenges and on-going health issues, which worsened after surviving an attack by a rabid mountain lion in March 2020.

A funeral mass for Randy will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Windsor, CO on Monday, June 7th at 11:00am, followed by a lunch reception at the church and interment of ashes at Lakeside Cemetery in Loveland, CO. We pray he is finally at peace and resting in eternal joy with his Loving Savior.
